Can you tell us about your journey as a ballet dancer, How did you get started and how long have you been dancing?

"I started dancing at the age of 2 because of my older sister. She was doing it at first and I wanted to be with her, so I started joining her class. I’ve been dancing for 24 years already and hopefully I can dance for many more years."

Infuse a subtle hint of my unique personality

Could you share some highlights or memorable moments from your ballet career so far? Is there a particular performance that stands out to you?

"Alice in Wonderland was my first title role and I really like the story ballet. I love it when I can portray a different character but still put little touch of my own personality. i usually get nervous so easily but somehow in this first title role, I didn’t really get nervous on and I could enjoy every moment on stage."

Completely dedicated

Can you share with us your typical training routine? What does a day in the life of a ballet dancer look like for you?

"We start our day with ballet class with the whole company as a warm up or to work on things that we need for upcoming performance. Followed by 6 hours of rehearsals everyday. If we get breaks in between rehearsals, I have to release my muscle and work out if possible to avoid injuries as our body is our instrument in this art form."

What do you usually do on your day off?

"On weekends, I go to physiotherapist to make sure I prevent getting injured. I also swim for my stamina and go to the gym to strengthen. I also like to bring my dog to the park every weekend."

Do you exchange gifts with your loved ones during Christmas?

"Yes, we usually get something small and funny to each other. I don’t usually spend Christmas with my family so I make sure to send them Christmas greeting cards."

Where would you spend your X'mas this year?

"This year I will spend my Christmas on the theatre doing what I love, perform and share our art form to everyone and hopefully makes their Christmas extra special. "
